You Know When It's Time to DivorceWhen you got married, you probably never envisioned a day when you would decide to file for divorce. But as marriages go along, they can change, and not always for the better. If you are at a crossroads and are uncertain of what to do next, here are some things to look for that will tell you it’s time.

1. You no longer communicate, and either you or your partner (or both) are unwilling.

Communication is so important to a marriage. The moment that it begins to dry up, that’s when a marriage starts to die. And it can eventually reach a point of no return where there is no fixing it. If you and/or your spouse have decided to forgo all meaningful communication in lieu of silence and isolation, then you’re no longer living in a marriage, and you should probably consider divorce forms.

2. You fight constantly, and it’s getting harder to control the outbursts in front of your children.

While fighting is a common part of marriage and it isn’t always a bad thing — conflict resolution, anyone? — there can come a point where you’re doing more harm than good, and that negativity and instability is starting to pour out onto your children. You don’t want your kids to grow up feeling like pawns or being afraid to go home. If your fights have reached this level of intensity, then you should embrace the inevitable and start thinking about your lives apart.

3. You have lost all ability to relate to your spouse.

When couples have children or get busy with other facets of life, it can be difficult finding time to spend together. But whether or not that’s the case, if the time you DO spend together is spent feeling bored or unable to connect, then it’s possible that you’ve grown apart. While you can take efforts to reignite the spark, if you’ve given it your best shot and you’re still too bored to engage, then it may be time to consider divorce papers.

Those of you who’ve made the decision, how did you know it was time? Sound off in the comments section.
